HEALING AFTER ABORTION
Many post-abortive women initially report an immediate sense of relief. This relief is often fleeting and symptoms of regret can manifest later in life. We have been told by post-abortive women that the abortion clinic advised them not to tell anyone about their abortion, because they would be judged or shamed. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many women never discuss their abortion with anyone for decades. They carry lifelong scars from their abortion. Research indicates 79% of women indicate they were not fully informed of alternatives.
Some Symptoms
After an abortion, you may feel a sense of isolation, depression, low self-esteem, inability to forgive yourself, drug or alcohol abuse, sexual promiscuity, and suicide ideation. You are not alone.
We Can Help
If you or someone you know is suffering from the grief of an abortion, we can recommend several loving, judgement-free organizations formed to assist you in your healing. Women are not alone in regretting their abortion. Men, parents, grandparents and abortion workers are often traumatized by abortion as well.
Project Rachel is a beautiful ministry to help women and men heal from abortion. You deserve to feel loved and to feel whole. They provide hope, healing and compassion for those suffering from abortion. www.Portlanddiocese.org/projectrachel

SaveOne offers help for men, women, and family members/friends, through group study, online study, or answering questions and giving encouragement through self-study. We have a Bible based curriculum that was written by our founder Sheila Harper. Sheila chose abortion in 1985 for her first child and lived with mental and emotional anguish for 7 years following that choice. www.SaveOne.org.
Silent No More is an organization devoted to women and men who have had or been involved in abortion and are suffering from its aftereffects. They share their personal stories of healing to help others. Silent No More can assist you, while you assist others, in your journey toward wholeness and healing.
And Then There Were None (www.abortionworker.com) offers healing for abortion workers who have first-hand experience in the abortion industry. And Then There Were None is run by a former abortion clinic director who left the abortion business after witnessing an ultra sound-guided abortion. She became pro-life, and never turned back.
