PLANNED PARENTHOOD

It's Not What You Think

FAST FACTS

  • Planned Parenthood Federation of America is the nation’s largest abortion provider.  It committed 322,757 abortions according to its 2017-2018 Annual Report, up by 11,373 abortions since 2016.

  • Planned Parenthood reported 2.5 million patients in 2014 and 2.4 million patients in both 2015, 2016 & 2017, for a decrease of 100,000 patients, or 4% fewer patients between 2014 and 2017.

  • Approximately one out of every three abortions committed in our country is committed by Planned Parenthood.

  • While the Abortion Giant holds non-profit status, its revenue for 2017-2018 was about $1.420 billion. They reported an excess of revenue over expenses of $244.8 million, an increase of $146.3 million in one year alone.

  • In 2016, its annual report continued to report  two new categories: “well-woman exams” (235,355) and “miscarriage care” (1,182).  These services have not been defined by Planned Parenthood. In 2014, former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson wrote that in her Planned Parenthood protocol book there was one called“Miscarriage Management” that was “in preparation for when abortion (was) made illegal” and it gave step by step instructions on how to help women with self-abortions.

  • The Abortion Giant reports it received $563.8 million in taxpayer dollars, a decrease of almost $20 million from last year.  34% of their funding comes out of taxpayers’ pockets.  That’s over $1.544 million in forced tax dollars every single day.

  • Day in and day out, Planned Parenthood aborts 911 innocent babies.

  • 97% of Planned Parenthood’s prenatal services are abortion.  Nine out of every ten pregnant women who enter a Planned Parenthood will receive an abortion.  Only one out of every 10 women will walk out the front door with her baby still alive in her womb.

  • Adoption referrals make up only 1% of their pregnancy services.

  • Between 2011 and 2017 Planned Parenthood distributed an average of 1.79 million emergency contraceptive kits annually. Emergency contraception such as Plan B is known to cause abortion if fertilization has already occurred.

  • Although the Abortion Giant touts its extensive health care efforts, cancer screenings and prevention programs have actually dropped by a whopping 66% —two-thirds.—from 2009-2017: 1,830,811 (2009), 1,596,741 (2010), 1,307,570 (2011), 1,121,580 (2012), 935,573 (2013)  682,208 (2014)  665,234 (2015),
     660,777 (2016), and 614,361 (2017).

  • Actual prenatal services have also steadily decreased by more than three-quarters (77%) since 2009: 40,489 (2009) vs. 7,762 (2016).  In only two short years, its prenatal services dropped by more than half (55%) between 2014-2016.

  • Breast exams at Planned Parenthood have also decreased by 64%: 830,312 (2009) vs. 296,310 (2017).  And no, Planned Parenthood does not perform mammograms, and never has.

  • As of  2017, Planned Parenthood facilities will be down to less than 600 facilities in the U.S. with 56 regional affiliates.   At its height in 1995, there were 938 Planned Parenthood facilities.  Their facilities are now down by 34%—-an all time low.  32 of its facilities were closed in 2017 alone. It’s time to shut them down for good.

  • There are 13,540 Federally-qualified, low-cost, high quality Health Care   Clinics & rural health clinics. These Federally Qualified Centers are located in urban and rural locations, and they outnumber Planned Parenthood by more than 20 to 1 nationally. They offer more services than Planned Parenthood, but not abortion.

          Abortion is not health care.

Margaret Sanger
